Christian Service

While attending Landmark Baptist College, students will have many opportunities to serve within the comforts of a local church. As a part of Landmark Baptist College, a ministry of Landmark Baptist Church, students will have the privilege to sit under the great preaching of Dr. Mickey Carter. Each student will have his heart challenged and life changed in preparation to serve the Lord in future ministries.
During the week, students are able to participate in various ministries such as Thursday night soul winning, college choir, and the prison ministry, to mention only a few Landmark has to offer.
On the weekend, students are involved in one of the many outreaches of Landmark Baptist Church. The bus ministry, Phoster Club, Fishers of Men, and Senior Patriots are just a few of the ministries in which the students may participate while being trained alongside some of the Lord’s most faithful servants.

“Beloved, let us love one another…” is a theme that rings true throughout Landmark Baptist College. Whether sitting in class, eating a meal, doing homework, or enjoying time with friends, there is plenty of fellowship to be had with fellow believers. While learning how to serve the Lord, students are reminded that the ministry is about people, and there are plenty of opportunities to get first-hand experience!
After a day of practical and educational classes, students can be found in many places on campus, located in the center of Haines City. Carter’s Corner serves as the student snack shop and is also the center of most of the social activity on campus. As students gather for a meal or stop in for just a snack, they are surrounded by those who love the Lord and share their passion to serve Him. Those who wish to spend quiet time studying can often be found in the Tower Inn.
The college provides an off-campus activity each month for a change of pace. College-wide trips to Orlando, Camp Glory (Landmark’s own campground), the bowling alley, the putt-putt course, and other fun places are frequent and eagerly anticipated. Our Christmas Banquet is a highlight of the fall semester. Many memories are made while the student body council plans and prepares this special time for everyone.
A student at Landmark Baptist College is provided many opportunities to practice Christian love and find many life-long friends in the process. The unity within this small college brings with it a sense of family. There is hardly a dull moment!

Chapel

Chapel

It is ten o’clock in the morning. The sun is shining through the stained-glass windows of Landmark Baptist College’s chapel, a building that was formerly a Presbyterian church. Piano music is heard just above the dull roar of students settling in their seats. A student walks up to the pulpit and welcomes his fellow classmates, professors, and possibly a visiting preacher to chapel. As he leads the congregation in an opening hymn, voices are lifted in praise, preparing hearts for the sermon.
Students not only take part in leading music and accompanying on the piano, but they use their musical abilities to glorify God through special music. Opportunities for students to get involved are available in every chapel service.
God’s Word is the main focus during that time. Great men of God preach out of the world’s greatest Book. Right in the middle of the day’s classes, a preacher stands in front of the congregation and urges them to stand for God. Challenging sermons speak to the hearts of the students and draw them closer to their Saviour. Chapel is a very special time which gives students the encouragement they need to take a stand for God’s Word.

Dormitory life includes a spiritually motivating, family atmosphere. It’s a place where students are loved and cared about – a home away from home. It is not only a place where students can relax or study, but also a place where lasting friendships are made. Students have a chance to live with other students from all over the world and experience different cultures. Roommates have the opportunity to learn from each other’s lifestyles, backgrounds, and cultures – a learning experience that allows them to grow closer to God and each other.

The ladies’ dormitory is located in the tower building which was constructed in 1926 as a hotel. Landmark Baptist Church acquired the building in 1997. It was then transformed into offices, classrooms, and ladies’ dormitories keeping intact all of the beauty and character of the 1920s.
Across the street, is located the men’s dormitory. This dormitory was also previously a hotel. The men’s dormitory has ample living space as well as an outdoor basketball court. Both the men’s and ladies’ dormitories house two students to a room with each room having its own bathroom. Single students under the age of 25 have the opportunity to live in the dormitories. Landmark Baptist College also offers housing for married students on a first come, first serve basis.
